Why fireplace reads? The words, in the flickering firelight come alive and take you somewhere so much more magical than your life will ever be.

There's nothing like reading close to the warmth of a fireplace on a cold windy night. So here are are books you enjoy the best in such a situation:

#8 Possessed, by Kate Cann

I found this a kinda chilling book....while the story takes a while to catch pace, once it, does, it moves forward really well. You'll enjoy it.

#7 Inkheart, By Cornelia Funke

Though not very fast- paced, it has a good plot and setting. Anyone with a deep love for books will enjoy this book.

#6 Reckless, by Cornelia Funke

This book is a treat for your imagination. Alternate reality and fast plot, this is your YA version Alice in Wonderland, with a greatly tweaked plot and a lot more adventure.

#5 Ruined, by Paula Morris

Vivid descriptions, gripping plot, exciting settings and characters; climax will blow your mind.

#4 The Raven Boys, by Maggie Stiefvater

Great character development, great descriptions and a great plot...it moves fast and, beware, there are some really cool 'stunning WTF revelation' moments. Oh, and did I mention really scary parts? You'll see...*knowing grin*

#3 Ravenwood, by Andrew Peters

This story is set in an alternate reality, which you'll enjoy best by the fireplace. Moves fast, has a large amount of action and adventure, and nice cliffhanger for dessert *wink*.

#2 Eragon (Inheritance cycle), by Christopher Paolini

Alternate reality, believable characters and a wow-this-is-blowing-my-mind plot. Escape into a whole new world with the masterfully written narrative. Also, you'll love the sequels: they just get better and better.

#1 The Scorpio races, by Maggie Stiefvater

I'll be honest; I picked this book up only because I'm a Scorpio (as in, the sun sign), and I thought the summary at the back of the book was pretty cool. I don't regret it. At all.

This is one of the best books I've read (and Not by the fireplace, mind you) which makes me suggest you read it during cloudy weather, or while it's raining....it'll make the experience SO much more better. So PLEASE so me a favour and read this one, For. Sure.

Let the words carry you away....
